Why do I want to know?

    You may ask.

It's just that I don't get out much (the Deep South, I mean,) and one of the things I most enjoy about being here with all of you is hearing opinion from all over.

So I'm curious, and I decided that it wasn't impolite to just ask.

On television, a show's guests are often asked, "So, tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from?"

    Hello from China

My name is Ko and I'm from Shanghai, CN. This is actually my first post to Smirking Chimp.

I visit here to learn more about what Americans think and get news from other sources. I'm also a memeber of Daily Kos and post there frequently.

    See you here.

    Welcome

We would enjoy to learn more about China from you.

    Madhoosier

(A Hoosier is a citizen of the state of Indiana, in the Midwest of the United States, or as this poll calls it; Middle America. I'm mad because of the way my nation is being led by our leaders.)

    Northern Virginia is neither

Northern Virginia is neither Northeast nor Southeast. We relish leading the state into its new blue future. It is also marvelously handy to the DC BeastBelly for assertion of our First Amendment rights.

    where am I from?

I am a most concerned American, living by continually confirmed choice in this lovely heart of Europe (CH), one who came here to share with this world what is best about America and Americans, and uncomfortably now finds it too often requested to comment on just how the hell the USA got off on this wrong track! And I am also asked, perhaps more importantly ... is there any hope for "us Europeans." This was followed in one recent impromptu conversation by the comment "we Europeans ought to have a vote for the US Presidency, since we are obviously dependent upon this man, and are equally obviously more aware than most Americans of the importance of having respected, intellectually able, and sensitive leadership compatible with the tremendous power of the position."

    I could not disagree.

    general

Middle America is a bit broad, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illionis is a different world from Kansas, Oklahoma or Texas...

All flyover states are not the same!

Lol, upon reflection, maybe I'm just being a heartland snob.

    Australia here...

I'm a roamer for the most parts and can't be found at home for a quarter or even half a year. For the work season I can usually be found housed in a small town called Tully. It is a quiet place located half way between cairns and Townsville along the North Queensland coast line. Famous for... well very little being a tiny rural town but we did have the first ever crop circle here. Over water too, giving us the first ever water circle as well.
